Seagulls also cry

Dear little me,

You took on so much that was never yours to carry.

We can set it down now whenever you’re ready.

Love,

Me.

This article is the English version of the article “Martılar da ağlar”

I’ve read that piece and I remembered some advice I watched a few days ago. A lady talked after therapy and she told us to think about our small version’s room. Think about you as a kid, that room, pieces of furniture, curtains, every detail. What did s/he need to hear? What would you say to that kid?

I’ve heard that someone –of course, it was for fun- was talking like that:

- I traumatize my plants to make them grow more powerful. Just like my parents do to me.

We might also do this. Our parents, boyfriends, girlfriends, relatives, friends…

Alright, I am coming with a question. Does it only matter how long we stand? how many times I stand up doesn’t count at all?

We have childhoods which are banned to sit with best friends for the possibility that they can talk too much and giggle. I do not think it is right to say Hey! Jump and feel the peace against the burdens we have in our chests from the past. Also completely not genuine. But it is right that we do need to hear some things also.

Just like our younger versions do. Especially them. I want to write tiny letters here –maybe it can inspire you- to little me. Brief and clear and sweet. Maybe you will also like them. Maybe you will even write.

We grow up so much even though not as much as bamboo trees. Traumas do exist and they are everywhere I am opposed to cruelty done consciously out of concern for power. I am not against certain rules as long as they are paid for with love and compassion.

It is impossible not to grow up or not to change. And it is not “as long as we live”, always. The “how” part is up to us. If we don’t do our decisions, our lives will be the things happening to us. Just like leaving the steering wheel to the wind. I do know taking the steering wheel is really not so attractive.

But discipline is also freedom. We are also the change.

Panta rei — everything flows.

You are not even the same person after starting to read this article.

But it is not bad, right? :)

We probably all know Jim Rohn’s five people sentence.

“You’re the average of the five people spend the most time with”

We can look at our lives and the people we change together. Are we happy about it?
Do we like these flowing conditions of our existence?

Isn’t it completely “no harm” as long as you want the change together? “Transformation” is also the butterfly for example. Not only spiders. I also like butterflies too.

Birds too. Thanks to my friend, I have the perspective to look at them closer lately. I did not know that many birds living around me. Many of the parents, trees, pictures…

A sweet friend. We fly well together, we can increase the average together. :)

We shall look at the sky in the times we do not fly.

Birds, rains, the ones flew away…

A lovely music person died soon. I do not want to say a singer easily because he was a real music person. Another legend to our history from now on. Uğur Özkan. Rest in Peace.

“Martılar mahsun oldu, onlar bile ağladılar.”

“The seagulls were saddened, even they cried.”

I leave this song here if you wanna hear something which includes him.
